Updates...

Communication/developments:
I swear he learns a new word a day! We are still having the evaluation done. They are coming September 11th after school. However, I am encouraged by what Alyssa told us when we saw her/she "evaluated" him. I have also been riding the high of knowing that he scored a "perfect" on the Social/Emotional screening. That was so important to me! I am so proud of the person he is :)

So he is finally putting together 2 word phrases that are his own thoughts. Well, Alyssa said that she actually heard him say 3-4 word sentences. I guess I wasn't sure if they "counted" but he does say "Where did it go?" Or "Where did the ___go?" "Oh there it is!" "Is it a ____ (choo-choo, whoo-whoo...)?" " No, it's not a ___."  "Thank you" "Love you" "all done" and maybe some others. But now he says "its a BIG___"! He points out: BIG TRUCK, BIG CAR, BIG CHOO-CHOO, BIG BOAT everywhere we go :) Big Car/Truck is really popular right now, especially on our car rides/commute! And the Blue Line (El) in on our ride too, so  he is constantly pointing out the choo-choo!

8/27 Jack said Boy! John was getting him ready in the morning (our morning routine during work) and he said, "Jack used to smell like a baby, now he smells like a little boy" and Jack repeated boy! After we made a big deal about it,  he came into the kitchen and said, "Mama, I'm a boy!" (or something like that, the sentence was in his broken language, but Boy was totally clear!) then he repeated in during our commute! He is very proud when he learns a new word :)

He is also saying Baby with a B. He used to call babies Tee-Tee ( or Dee-Dee, one of those is blankey and one was baby) But he finally says it correctly!

When he counts it's still 3,7,8,7,8,7,8...

His newest letter is probably F

He has learned the difference between baseball and other balls! He loooves baseball! (yeay for Uncle Bub!) John has been teaching his how to swing a bat, and as you can imagine, he LOVES that! (especially in the house :) I love the way he says "baseball." There is a little pause between base-ball that is so cute! He gets really "tough guy" when he swings a bat, or watches baseball on TV and talks about it!

Back to school  He loves it! He says "Yeay" everytime we pull up to Sabina's. He loves his friends, he loves playing. He is having a blast! He is even doing well with his naps! I am SO happy I found Sabina! We are both adjusting to getting up in the morning and out the door :) Daddy likes getting Jack ready, but Mama is not a fan of the mornings ;) We have done well getting out in time though! Jack is asleep when I go in to wake him up which is sad, but he is  a trooper! I am just going into this year positive. And my new mantra is to relax about my weekends. I don't NEED to get everything done. AND even if I am running errands, that does count as hanging out with Jack. I need to remember that. My goal is to appreciate every second I have with him, without worrying about what I am not doing/should be doing. So far so good :)

After the first week of school...

Time to relax and enjoy each other's company again :)

Jack was very busy on making our sand hole. He always wants to play in other people's creations at the beach, so today we created our own! Super serious stuff :)

Tried to make castles, but Godzilla kept knocking them down.

On the way back we went to the Green City Farmer's Market as usual, and Jack played in the "band".
He was super exhausted from his busy morning at the beach so we didn't last long :)

Air and Water Show at Papa & Trish's

View from the 49th floor of the Newbury Building
where Papa and Patricia (Trish) live!

Jack loooovees being at Papa and Trish's house! (Papa lives in the big building!) He mostly loves looking out the window, poking at the nice clean windows with his gross food-filled-fingers and yelling about all the "boatsths" and the "wa-wa"! :) He will explain what he sees in great "detail" and enthusiasm to whoever is around to listen :) Their house is also shaped in a circle so he loves to run around and yell "ere he is: when he reenters the room you are in! Patricia has a large stuffed animal pig named Horatio that she has had for years. It is Jack's best friend whenever he goes to visit! He loves to ride and jump in it. He also loves to drool all over their nice silk couches. Luckily they love him so much they don't care :)
