I have to remember to write about Jack too :)
It is time for him to start Kindergarten! He is so very proud and excited! I too just got a new job in CPS! We will all be within minutes of each other. FINALLY! So when he said he was a little nervous about starting a new school, I told him I am doing it too, and we will be brave together. We will both be making new friends :)
Right now he just said " I wish that on the first day of school I could give my teacher some money" :)

ONE YEAR!!!
Holy Moly where did the time go?? Before you have the 2nd child you wonder if you could every love them as much as the first. The cliche is true. You can , and you DO! Life will never be the same now that Charlie's in our lives that's for sure :) and man, we wouldn't have it any other way! He has such a funny personality! He charms the pants off anyone who meets him, or sees him in the street, etc.... He is so smiley (just like Jack :)
What he's doing:
Walking! Like a little drunk guy, but definitely walking!
Cognitive:
Understands that when things are hidden they didn't disapear
Fine motor skills:
Using his pincer grip to pick up small items
Puts smaller objects in and out of larger objects
Spins wheels of a truck etc....

Talking:
Mama (he's a total mama's boy right now!)
zooming noises when he plays with cars (he got that from Jack! :)
Animal noises: If he is playing with a dog, he will say "wuf-wuf" and make him "walk"
He gets intonation and his tone goes up and down.
He mimics a lot!

"ziss" and "dat" when point at things, which seems to be pretty much everything. He is very inquisitive!
He sings A LOT! It sounds like the tune from Twinkle Twinkle, which he has heard since he was born. Now he sometimes laughs during it because it makes me laugh :)
Eating:
First of all, he has at least 8 teeth already! He gets comments about how many teeth he has for a one year old. Once I listened to Sabina about giving him less bottles and less baby food, he started eating solids, and hasn't stopped since! Now he is an eating machine! He is not picky at all. So different from when he was a baby. His favorites are : blueberries (LOVES THEM!) he eats a lot of pancakes, eggs, cheese, chicken.....In OR he had shrimp and loved it! He is now on Whole Milk, and sippy cups. Although I still give him a bottle at night, it's more for me than him....I am in denial that I will not have a baby anymore :(
Sleeping:
Ironically he woke up last night/early this morning, but typically he sleeps though the night. From about 7-7. Jack is SUCH a great big brother! When I went in there during the night Jack had given Charlie his own blanket off his Cars bed, along with some of this stuffed animals :) He always tries to help him fall back asleep before he gets us. Jack is amazing. And Charlie absolutely adores him! Naps: poor Charlie is definitely a victim to being the 2nd child as far as naps. Jack and I want to do things in the afternoon, so Charlie has been pretty inconsistent with that one for awhile. Even at Sabina's he would rather play than nap. During the school year his afternoon nap was usually the commute home. It was always later, but he would still go to bed at the same time. This summer he has pretty much gievn up the afternoon nap. We are usually out and about, and he is fine. His morning nap is sometime around 9 or 10, but that is not always the same either. Depends on when he wakes up. I did talk to the new daycare teacher and she said they start transitioning to one nap, around 11, anyway. So he should be ok. He doesn't really NEED a pacifier. I sometimes give it to him if he seems overtired, but he is pretty good at self-soothing. At some point during the night he always throws his pacifier out of the crib :) He also loves his "DD" just like Jack:)
