A day at the zoo with Grandma and Grandpa.
Another beautiful day in March! Luckily it was over my Spring Break!
Jack learned a lot about alfalfa with grandpa at the farm...
Jack got to meet his new cousin Genevieve! Only 4 days old!
At first he was a little skeptical; and a little jealous. He was very clingy when I was holding her. Poor Sean just wanted to run around and play, but Jack didn't want to leave my side. Eventually he warmed up and played with Sean. Then Margaret told him he could touch her feet. Well, he knows the word "shoe" so he kept touching her foot and saying Shoe.
Also, he is saying "What's that" or "is that" A LOT lately. So he kept pointing to her and saying "Is that?"
Genevieve is amazing!! I love her!!!
Naked times!! And cleaning?
Relaxin.....
Words/phrases that Jack says(some clearer than others :)
shoe
sock
hi
bye (sounds like "die" !)

Please ("ease") (also, could be "eat")
What's this ("is this")?
All done
Where did it go?
Love you (too)
Hi everybody
Let's go!
Look at that!
Thank you (just starting)
Counting to 10 (sort of) one and two are the clearest.
He "sings" (mostly just makes sounds to the beat) to Old McDonald (he says E-I-E-I-O), Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Happy Birthday (he says "to you"), the ABCs, If You're Happy and You Know It (he claps, taps his feet, shouts hooray), The Wheels on the Bus (does the motions) and Itsy Bitsy Spider (does the spider). In the car he likes B-I-N-G-O on my Sing Along CD because a dog barks and he says "doggie" everytime. He also likes to shout the "O"!
Developments:
He eats with a fork and spoon. He likes to put dishes in, and take dishes out of the dishwasher; throw garbage away; push the laundry cart downstairs; clean with paper towels and the swifter/broom; turn on the TV with the remote; put away the shoes in the coat/shoe closet; turn on/off the lights; open and close the door; count in the elevator; go up and down steps' collect rocks and sticks on our walks; "cheers" (thanks grandma and grandpa!); dip his food into a sauce (hummus, ketchup...); put away his toys; "read books"; watch Sprout TV (chica, Super Why, and Star on the goodnight show).

He looks like he has all of his teeth except the back ones right before his molars.
Poor guy gets A LOT of ear infections :( on average, once every other month during the school year! But he is such a trooper you would never know until he gets his 103 fever!
He is pretty flexible with naps. Which is weird. They are after lunch at daycare, but at home he sometimes gets tired before lunch. Usually he sleeps around 2 hours at home. It varies at daycare. He always sleeps through the night unless he is sick. (Knock on wood) he still really doesn't have temper tantrums. Sometimes he'll whine about something, but that's usually when he is tired, hungry or sick. Sometimes he gets frustrated about sharing toys (at least when I am with him, I think he is fine at daycare).
We go to the park a lot and he loves the swings, the slide, the sandbox, and the bouncy bridge.
He loves playing on "the big boy bed" which is rough-housing on our bed :)
He has become an "excellent" soccer player! Probably thanks to Adam! :)
At his 18 months check -up the Dr. said that he is now in the 80%ile for height, 40%ile for weight, and 15%ile for head!
She also said not to worry too much about his speech. As long as he has about 8 words or more and understands language; which he definitely does. I guess I didn't realize how much he DOES know/say. Plus, it's been good to be home with him over break. I always "get to know him"more when I get more time with him. I end up seeing more things that I usually do. She was impressed with his fine/gross motor skills, and eating habits-which I knew were fine.
What I am most happy about with Jack is his demeanor. He seems happy, secure, confident, respectful...Now yes, I know it may be too soon to tell what he will be like someday. But I would love nothing more than for him to be similar to how he is now. Calm and content. He is seriously SUCH a GOOD boy!!!!
Jack, everyone loves you so so much! Your smile is addictive! Mommy and daddy just love watching you run around the apartment saying goofy things or squealing with delight, or standing at the coffee table eating your waffles/french toast in the morning watching Sprout TV or sports with daddy. Daddy loves when you shake your moppy hair around :) We just love kissing your checks, and getting awesome hugs from you!
We especially love when you blow us a kiss and say "love you"!
