Some favorites:
Goodnight/ bedtime routine:
After a book, (2 short Lego books are the hit right now), Twinkle Twinkle, 2 hugs and 2 kisses each (lately I get an extra because " mommy, you have a baby in your tummy" :), We blow kisses and say "good night" "love you" "see you in the morning".....Now Jack says " Good night! Love you in the morning!"
Pretend family:
Jack has a pretend dad (who is 18) a pretend mom (she seems to vary in age), a pretend "bruder" (who is somehow 55), PetePete, and baby. They all seem to one-up us in many ways. Whatever we have or do, they- usually Bruder- does better, faster, stronger or has the same thing that is bigger, better and faster. It can pertain to anything. His dad has more clothes than John. His bruder has TWO stomaches, even though we only have one. They have dogs, multiple boats, monster trucks and racecars. Bruder and pretend can go really fast in their cars, but they don't get tickets or in trouble from the police.
He has added Luke.
"When I grow Up":
Each morning he annouces what he wants to be when he grows up. Here are some I can remember-
astronaut
race car driver
rock and roll singer
police and fireman
invisible
a dinosaur
a "worker guy" which sometimes means construction, other times buisness
mechanic
PE teacher
The Bulls:
He know most of the players names...and loves Derek Rose, Jimmy Butler, Aaron Brooks, and loves Jokim Noah!
Baby Charlie
SO cute about his brother baby Charlie!
Got to hear his heartbeat and was obsessed! Loves to hug, kiss, and talk to him. He has already decided what teams he will root for. He decided he will shared everything, even his "deedees". But told Sabina that Charile will call them "doodoos" instead of Deedees ;-)Today he told me that while I read baby Charlie books, he will play the guitar!
Tall:
When people comment about how tall he is for his age, he says "it's because I eat bejtables" (vegetables). He also seems to related age and "bigness" with older people. For example he refuses to believe that Daddy and I are the same age because Daddy is so much bigger (and lately, due to Charlie, also talks about the size of people's tummies ;)
Habits/developments:
He will now take a shower, let me dump water on his head, and put his eyes (reluctantly, but bravely) into the water!
As of June he "graduated" into level 2 for swimming! He is still hesitant, but all the teachers comment that he is brave because he will still try anything they ask him to. :)
He sleeps through the night, and gets up to go potty instead of wetting his pants
After bath he insists on getting ready for bed all by himself- lotion, jammies, brush teeth ("even the dinosaur teeth!" which we call the back teeth) and rinse/spit! I am still blown away by this!
His soccer skills are quite impressive! Especially since he hasn't had official lesssons. Just playing with "B" at Sabina's, and Uncle Dude whenever possible.
Almost daily I am pressed with his vocabulary, ability to inference, problem solve, make connections, and memory.
He is still very polite, responsible, and respectful. SO important to us!
Words/likes:
Beer-"beard"
uses the word gravity and frictiion correctly
all of a sudden he became obsessed with No Parking vs Parking signs!?
Likes the solar system/space
Likes patterns and ryhmes
"100"= anything that is a lot or big. Athough he has recently starting using a million (sounds more like minion)
Likes the Minions
