20 Months!

I love the water!

An evening at the Lake...

My kind of town, Chicago is...

Hmmm, no sand. So I guess I'll collect weeds in my bucket.

Soaking up the view...

5/27/12
We  went to cousin Brian and Shannon's house with baby Courtney for Memorial Day. Aunt Gigi, Uncle Bruce, Aunt Terri, and Uncle Jimmy were there. Among many others! Jack had an absolute BLAST playing in the yard and with all of their toys! They had rented a "jumpy" castle. At first Jack cried. Even when he went in with daddy. But at the end he went in with this boy Logan and he got into it! "bounce, bounce bounce..." ! They had the same little house as the one he played in at Ethan's party, and a Little Tikes slide that was perfect for him! The grand finale was a sprinkler type toy! It was a long hose with tiny hoses attached that would wiggle and spray water all over. He LOOOOVED it! He was soaked! AND figured out  how to hold it so that he could aim it at the other little boy! (and at mom :)
Basketball with daddy! :)

Cousin Brian
Hanging out on the driveway on Memorial Day.

It was windy, so Jack was chasing the leaves! Then he was putting them in the "flower bed" in front of the condo"cleaning up" :)

Jack makes a new friend at the park! Oscar is 2 1/2 years old, but Jack was totally  the leader :) Oscar's grandma said that Oscar wouldn't do the things they were doing if it weren't for Jack.

My "baby boy" can climb ladders now! I am shocked and impressed! I think he learned it by copying Sean.

6/1/12
As I've said before, one of my favorite things about Jack is how friendly he is to strangers/the people in the neighborhood. He literally says "Hi!" to everyone he sees! Well, now he has been nicknamed "Governor".  Recently our garage has been under construction so we have had to park on the street. So every morning we have to walk out to our car. There is a man in our building that has a dog ("Hi doggie." -then he pets him and says, "Nice" ) and the first time Jack gave him his big wave and Hi the guy got a huge kick out of it and said he should run for Alderman. Just a very moments later we passed the garage attendant next door add he also said he should run for office! Now, when we pass the garage attendant he says "howdy Gov'ner!" And the man with the dog now goes out of his way to come up to Jack and has a huge smile when he sees him. Before Jack, we hardly said hi to each other. Now, even when he drives by he will honk and wave at Jack!

He says Hi to all doggies. And the owners are usually pretty nice about letting Jack pet them if they know that their dog is friendly with kids. Jack does "Nice doggie" and the dog, owner, Jack and I love it :) We are making so many friends in our neighborhood on our walks! Jack has been so fun that way. It makes the neighborhood so much friendlier.

He also gets comments on his hair a lot. Which John and I also love :)

He is such a good boy!

Developments:
He is getting better at signing too. He signs "more" (although sometimes he uses it for please too) he can sign for please, when he remembers to. He is starting to sign for milk now too.

He says his please and thank yous a lot. Which is very important to me. Sabina asked if she could change his diaper and he said "no thank you"  :)  But like I said earlier, he has also thanked her for changing it too.

He can climb a ladder! He gets around the playground like nobody's business! I can't believe the things he can do now! I can pretty much let him be and he can do most things by himself!

He can make a "thumbs up"! It's soooo cute! It takes a lot of concentration on his part, but then he gets so proud when he finally gets it right :)

He is getting really good at throwing and kicking. He was playing in Aunt Barb/Uncle Keith's pool and could throw the basketball into the hoop!

Words: (or things he can refer to, even if it may be unclear to others :)
We can his language "Beanese"
bowl
book
birdie "der-dee"
dirty
spoon
tells me "let's go" by signaling with his hands and saying "s-go"
He's getting better at counting to 10. He gets it, just some numbers are clearer than others. 1, 2 , 3, 4, 6, 7, 10
shovel - I think because we spend so much time at the beach/sandbox!
He can sign:  more, please, and milk

Water's good, guys, come on in!

Learning how to do "thumbs up"

Got it!

Summer in the City...

5/19/12
It's starting! I'm not on break yet, but this was one of those weekends that gets you ready for summer! We all ate breakfast on the balcony (or the lanai :) We went to the beach and Jack actually went in the water! Well, he fell face first a couple of times due to the waves/current which he is not used to yet. However, I was proud of him because it didn't discourage him from going back in! He was SO cute! A group of guys close by were getting a kick out of watching him squeal as he ran in and out of the water. "one...two...three...!" He loves how the waves chase him. He held his shovel in his hand the whole time :) Good thing he loves the water, because the Deyerlers are certainly water people! AND he is already for Lake Michigan adventures with Grandpa!
First mom had a photo shoot

Here we are testing the water.

After our first spill mom put on the bathing suit :)
Thanks Mimi for the awesome suit! I look like a surfer!

Duuuuuuude!
Hard to look cool with yogurt on your face
