Now he says Mama all the time :)
Newest words:
Up
Down
Help, help (when he needs help, instead of just crying or whining because he is frustrated)
Lay down
Jack! (at "school" he calls himself Jackie because that's what they call him :)
rock
stick
I think I hear spoon
I think-guitar
"Commands/following directions":
"go get your ___"(shoes, water, milk, blanket, car, ball, book, doggie...)
"do you want to eat, or it's time to eat", and he will go to him chair
same with "bath"
at daycare he knows the routine of when to get changed, where to put his shoes when they go in/outside, snack :) where/when to put the garbage/clean up (she had a family night and it was amazing to watch him! He is so well trained!)
"let's go, or it's time to go" and he knows he needs a jacket and will head toward the door. When we get in the hall he will hit the button for the elevator.
"down" means don't stand on the couch. HE says it :)
He even plugs in my computer if he sees it unplugged!
brushes his teeth every morning and night. Then he wipes his mouth on the towel like I do :) He washes his hands before he eats, and again likes to wipe his face and hands on the towel. Sometimes even his tongue ;)
Teeth
He got 2 more! The two on the bottom in front of the molars. He only has 2 more to go! (the same ones, on the top) Sabina called me at work one day worried because he wasn't eating. And as we know he ALWAYS eats! With no fever, we figured it was teething. And sure enough.....it was!
5/1/12 He told Sabina "thank you" when she changed his diaper! She said that only one other kid ever did that and it made her so happy! I was so proud that he knows how to use Thank You in context!
Here we are getting ready for "Backwards Day" at school for Week of the Child.
Sabina is awesome! We are so lucky to have found her. She does so many wonderful things with the kids!
4/30/12 He put his shoes on by himself!! I was shocked!
| Kaylee's First Birthday at Portillos! |
John's son for sure!!! :)
I suppose this is the result of the cake smash?! :)
Really, though, it was amazing how well Jack and Kaylee got along! They haven't seen each other since Kaylee was 2-3 months old! Yet, they INSTANTLY got along and started playing! When we were saying good-bye, Jack gave Kaylee a big hug. And Kathi said that when she was feeding Kaylee a bottle, Jack held her hand the whole time!! AWWWE!
Kaylee's Birthday weekend was Jack's first time staying overnight in a hotel! He was pretty good too! Except that mom and dad wanted to go out that first night. We eventually met up with some clients of John's and then Nikki, Brandon and Adam at Champs. SO fun!! We all get along so well, it's a shame it doesn't happen more often. However, when we got back we had to move Jack back into our room and the poor guy woke up and had the hardest time going back to sleep. So that one was on US. Overall, he was a champ! BUT super tired but the end of the weekend! Same with mommy and daddy! xoxox
5/9/12 Jack and I just had one of those precious moments when I kept thinking about how I wanted to make sure I remember times like these. We were doing our good night routine and we were laughing and being silly with each other :) About silly stuff like me pretending his foot was a phone and talking into it, or making our voices higher and lower. Then after reading our books we sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star together. It was just one of those times, you know? Where my heart was just melting the whole time xoxoxo
