Updates/Outings

Developments:
He knows the letter "O" ! We went to the Shedd Aquarium and he was pointing out the letter O everywhere we went! Even on peoples' bags when we were on the bus :) luckily they were very polite and entertained him! I have been working with him A LOT on the alphabet. And his favorite show is Super Why which is all about reading/spelling. I think it is STARTING to click.

knows what sound a dog makes and applies it whenever he sees one. Sometimes he over generalizes and says it when he sees other animals. He has know what sound a duck makes for awhile. He will say baa for sheep when prompted while reading Elmo Says (a favorite bed time book)

Can "dress" himself with help. He has been trying to put on shoes for awhile. But lately he has been putting his pants on too! He can put at least one leg in, and the second sometimes,  and then tries to pull them up.

He is very good at throwing and kicking. He is starting to try and catch. He puts his hands out and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't :)

He is getting much better at being in the pool! We went to Papa's pool with Patricia (John's grandfather lives at the Newbury building on State/Rush) and Jack wasn't scared at all! In fact he was very eager to "swim" He was kicking his legs and had his hands out while I held him on his belly. At one point he even put his face in the water. He likes "jumping" in the pool on the count of 3....

Outings:

The Green City Farmer's Market:  Every Wednesday and Saturday in Lincoln Park. There is a guy who plays the drums and brings different musical instruments for the kids to play. Jack was hesitant  it first, and then totally got into it! We went with the girl Katie in our building and her son Rhett.

The Shedd Aquarium: Long bus ride, but Jack loves the bus! He makes a lot of friends :) he is very friendly, as we all know! We got there early so there were no lines. I get in free because I am a teacher, and Jack is free because he is under 3, so you can't beat the price! I did buy the Jellies exhibit and we had lunch out on the terrace. We got to watch a storm roll in which was pretty amazing. We also got to see dolphins and Beluga Whales swim right  up to the glass, which made Jack squeal with delight! He jumped a little too because they's sneak up on you :) Jack loved being a penguin the most!

The Jelly Fish-glowing. Really cool
