Nonny's 65th Birthday!
The surprise was that I said we weren't coming and then we did :) like I would miss MY mommy's birthday! The bonus was that Pete and Tonia also surprised us! yeay! The boys are getting along better and better every time they see each other. It's amazing to watch. This time they both did a fabulous job SHARING the toys! They were wonderful! Poor Jack did not nap, so he was sort of a mess. And poor Genevieve was sick. But over all it was a fantastic party and I am so grateful the Deyerler's hosted it!
2012....2013!
Wow, another amazing year! Funny how much having a child changes the perspective of time. In the past a year could fly by without much significance Now, when we look back, SO much change and meaning comes into our lives on a moment to moment basis. Jack "grew-up" so much between 1-2 yrs. He went from baby to BOY! A few months ago I was worried and getting him evaluated for speech and now he is coming up with creative 2-4 word independent thoughts that reflect how smart and funny he is!
- He was from napping in the Pack-n-Play to a toddler cot with the rest of the "big" kids at Sabina's.
- And the biggest news is that he is using the potty! Both poo-poo (he calls it "poots") and pee-pee :) It's crazy to me when I pick him up at Sabina's and he will be in the bathroom on the potty having "conversations" with her! So different than, well, just before break! So already a huge change in 2013!
Dentist: unfortunately no the best experience. JACK did fabulous! Everyone was floored that it was his first time! He let them do anything and everything without hesitation Even that suction tube. But the overall experience was strange. They suggested dental work due to an over-crowded mouth which he said could lead to sleep Apnea.. Luckily we were able to talk to Jay about it who, in so many words, declared it was ridiculous! So needless to say, we will wait on that :) However, his teeth are clean! He does LOVE to clean then! "I do it"! If I try to brush his teeth, now he likes to do it himself ;)
Some New Phrases:
-I do it
-mines
-I got it, I got it, I got it (when we are playing ball)
-it's cold outside
-zoolight stop (it's what he calls a stop light ever since we took him to the Zoolights :)
-likes to give "elbow fives" yes daddy came up with that!
-"I do it" for almost everything now. That's great!
Some of Our Favorites:
-oatmeal "mealmeal"
-anytime someone has a hat on,or eats something sweet he sings Happy Birthday "Ada to you"
-Big Crucks
-as always: please, thank you, excuse me
-"noing" for snow or it's snowing
-Base-ball (said like an Italian) for all sports. He is starting to say soccer ball , so Adam "Uncle Dude" will be proud :)
-Oh Geez ; Oh Boy; Oh Man (yup, I think that's my fault - especially in traffic :)
-Love You Mommy! (Daddy!)
He calls kisses "muah" and hugs"ugs" every time we leave in the morning he "makes" daddy and I give each other "muahs" and "ugs"! sometimes even "mo muah" :) So wonderful....
-He can "count" to 2! He knows when he has 2 of something. Ex the first time I noticed it was when he spotted 2 planes. Now he will ask for 2 pretzels if I only give him one. When he gets the second one he will say "2 etzels" . He can also count to 10 and identify ALL of his letters now! He even knows "P is for Papa; D is for Daddy, M is for Mommy (Mimi), N is for Nonny; J is for Jack"
-He picks out his clothes. And for the most part, can take them on and off.
-When we are driving and we get to a stoplight he says "zoolight stop" (no matter how many times I correct him :) then he counts to ten for it to turn green. No matter if it works or not, he yells "mommy I did it!" When it does turn green! Also when driving, he wants " cars fast" and on the way in traffic we declare -cars, we want to go home "cars, home!"
He LOVES his Nonny Papa and now asks about him on a daily basis! Literally! Every morning he asks if we are going to see them. SO cute :)
First plane ride! Went SO well! So great to be able to end 2012 with Mimi, Kaylee, Aunt Nikki, Uncle Brandon and Uncle Dude in AZ!

Christmas in Arizona!
It was so wonderful to be able to celebrate Christmas with John's family in AZ. Nikki and Brandon were amazing hosts! It was a perfect vacation. Very relaxing, and surrounded by loved ones. Jack and Kaylee get along flawlessly. It is truly amazing. We all hope to be able to get them together more often. She is hysterical! And Jack plays so nicely with her. They literally never fought! Well, they did like to steal each other's water bottle and snacks :) One thing they definitely had in common was loving their snacks! (which is evident in many pictures :) One day we went to a place called Jump Street. The whole place is made of trampolines and other areas to run and jump on! Jack looooooved it! And Daddy and Uncle Dude got into it too. You should have seen Daddy do flips! Not bad for an old man :) Jack did so well on the plane too! We talked about it a lot the week before. He kept calling it "Jack's plane". All planes are now apparently "Jack's plane" :) On the way there, a nice woman switched seats with John so that the 3 of us could sit together. He did not nap until we were in our final decent:) but other than that he was great! Poor guy was sick the whole time we were there. In fact, the flu was passed around. Luckily Jack's virus wasn't too bad. The 3 of us bunked together, so John and I got to witness Jack talking in his sleep :) "P is for Papa" "VV baseball" and other topics he is an expert of :)
Kaylee and Jack would talk in their own language. A lot of it was Kaylee asking if things were "mine" and Jack answering "no" :)
These pictures crack me up! He looks like he is an old lady driving her golf car in an Arizona retirement community :)
Lazy morning watching Cars.
Jack gets a kick out of seeing his toys on TV! ("VV")
He always "shows" the TV his toy that matches what he sees :)
Cousins!
Kaylee and Jack LOVE each other!
Jack loved Kaylee's pink BMW :) And yes, I have to point what Kaylee did to her shirt :)
Down the Dragon Slide with Uncle Dude!
Opening Gifts...again! Jack had 4 days of Christmas!
Plane ride home: he's an old pro!
