Day at the farm after a trip to the Green City Farmers Market

 Smiling at Daddy!

Making calls....

Labor Day with the cousins, Uncle Bub and Aunt Margaret!
And first cousin sleepover!

First time on the waterslide!! Thanks Uncle Bub for the encouragment!
Instead of paying for swim lessons, I should just pay Bub!
Jack even went underwater by himself!

Charlie says hi from the pool! Or is he saying "no pictures please!"

So tiny in Daddy's arms!

The shirt was worn after a rough night of crying.
Of course we know we're spoiled after just ONE bad night of crying!

Still taking Jack to the beach! Love maternity leave!

Field Museum (aka Dinosaur Museum) gotta love Resident Free Days!

Attempts at "selfies" with Baby Charlie to prove he was there too :)
First museum trip!

Charlie's One Month Pictures and updates

Charlie at 6 weeks...

So amazing! I am trying to appreciate every moment since I know how fast it goes, and that he is our last newborn/infant in our house :-(

We love his smells, even when he is covered in barf, milk, and poop!

He definitely recognizes us, and follows our voice. He makes eye contact and has the cutest facial expressions. Not sure if he is smiling on purpose yet, but John thinks he is :) He is definitely more alert and "social" nowa days. And it's awesome!!!

On average he feeds every 4 hours. THe first half of the night it is a little longer. The mornings and evenings are closer to every 2 hours. I feed him about 9 PM and he wakes up around 2-3 AM, then again around 6 AM. I then feed him around 8AM, 10AM-he is "social" for a bit, then sleeps until 1-3ish, depending on if we are out and about. Then he eats when he wakes up, then about 6PM and 8-10PM. His big nap is right after his last morning feeding/in the middle of the day.  It varies based on our schedule.

Of course, the difference between when Jack was a newborn and now is that I have to entertain ack as well. Instead of just sitting around the house snuggling, we usually get out of the house for something for Jack. So Charlie often naps in the Bjorn carrier, or the carseat. When we go for walks, I use the carrier because I can be close to him and kiss his head while he naps. It also gives him time to stregthen his neck, and prevents a flat head. Plus, he gets a lot of "input" from the world!
