A Visit at the Deyerler's

We FINALLY made a play date with Aunt Margaret (Snaggers), Sean and Genevieve! As an added bonus, Uncle Bub was home too! I loooove when the boys are together, it is so cute! It is so wonderful that all of us get along so well :) It is great that Margaret is a teacher and has the summer off too! The boys usually run around like crazy, but this time the stereo was a hit! They were dancing machines! Jack was sporting his usual "booty" dance! And Sean had a pseudo Irish jig going :)

Silly gooses :)

Our attempts at getting a "cousins" picture....
Cousins:)

Notice Sean's Choke Hold on Jack :)
His statement, "Mommy, I took care of Jack"! :)

Check out those moves!

Aunt Sis and the precious Genevieve! Look at that smile!
Uncle John loves her cute little nose :)

Life's a Beach

More reasons to love where we live...once again we had an impromptu visit to the beach. It was a rainy day (in the morning we went to The Little Gym). When Jack woke up from his nap it was nice out. I decided I would go for a stroller run. I packed it up with beach stuff just in case. After/mid-run we stopped at Oak Street beach and played for quite a while. The water is SO warm! And it was wavy. The day we went to the beach with my parents it was wavy and Jack was a little apprehensive. Well, it usually just takes him one exposure to something new and then he is all about it! This time the waves were big and he LOVED it! He was totally getting "murdilized" and loving it! He'd get covered my a wave and sand and run out squealing and laughing!
Side note: this is where mommy goes when daddy gives her a "day  off" :)
(I had a perfect "staycation" here with my friend Robin last Friday on the most perfect weather day of the year!
Followed  by Topo Gigio in Old Town)

I mean, how "murdilized" does he look?!?!

Little Gym

The Little Gym has free introductory classes. I decided to try it out since it was a rainy day. Jack loooooved it! It only took him a short time before he gained the confidence to participate in everything they were doing. He was a very good listener and tried everything. He even hung from the uneven bars and did a "twist"! (hard to explain, but I guess it's good for their brain :) There was a point where we were all on a mat that inflated as we were sitting on it and then the kids were supposed to walk on it and then jump off the side. Jack was a little hesitant to do it, but got into it as long as I was holding his hand. There were shakers, songs, balls, free play, "flips", balance beams (flips ON the balance beams! Which he went on a second time. He thought he was pretty tough :) and of course, BUBBLES! His favorite!
(I don't have pictures of the activities I was participating in)

While the man was blowing the bubbles Jack kept shouting "WOW" and when he was done he clapped and yelled "YEAY!" It was cute because none of the other kids did, and it made the "teacher" laugh :) At the end, when it was time to get in a circle, there were still some lingering bubbles. Jack got up from the mat and ran around yelling "BUBBLES"!

Taste of River North

The Kid Zone at Ward Park

As usual, obsessed with the water fountains!

Typical Jack, making friends :)
"Buster Beans Friends to All"

Really Jack? Like you need MORE "Wa-Wa"?
You have a whole fountain right in front of you and you're soaking wet ;-)

Super Stolie (The girl playing the guitar)
Notice Jack is mostly interested in playing on the electrical equiptment

Bubbles! Now THAT I can get into :)

Chasing Bubbles!
Also, a good excuse to run up and down the hill.
