Beat the Heat...

7/5 It's been 3 days of 100 degrees (above 100 with the heat index). We've been stuck inside and going a little stir crazy. Luckily Jack is  super good boy and has been handling it very well. I think it's been harder for mom than him :) This morning we were on the verge of a meltdown so I got brave and headed to the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. I'm not kidding, we were sweating just walking from the car to the entrance! However, I am so glad we went. It is free for residents on Thursdays. We got there in time for Jack to do a craft. We went to the Butterfly exhibit, although all he wanted to do was climb into the ponds (wa-wa) which, I don't blame him! It was nice to get him out of the house. I think we were both relieved. I was proud of myself :)

Mom and Dad....

We have had a fun filled week! It is Anniversary Week! On Saturday Jack spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa's (which EVERYONE enjoyed!) He was such a good boy the whole time! Mom and Dad went to Erin and Gabe's housewarming party and enjoyed a beautiful summer evening on their rooftop! It was perfect! It was great for mom to get out and be social :) Then, on Monday (our actual anniversary) Mimi and Uncle Dude (Adam) came over to babysit while John and I went to dinner at Mastro's Steakhouse and had an AMAZING time! It was SO nice to have a date night! (Thanks Mimi :)
