As we pulled up to where we got our tree Jack yelled "CHRISTMAS!!!!" (John's favorite :)
Advent calandar: we have candy canes for each day. The other day on the way home from Sabina's Jack says to me, "I don't need anymore of the candy canes, I will save them to give to Santa." What kid says that?? SO sweet!!!
Us: "Jack, you're awesome!" Jack: " I don't want to be awesome, I want to be Just Right. I want to be Jack." Again, what kid says that? He is such a good soul...
Practicing letter sounds (which he is actually very good at. His teacher told me that as well). Jack, "Bah, Bah, Bah...mana" (he says mana for banana :)
We had our traditional Christmas decorating "party" (snacks, egg nog, and decorating with the yule log int he background) and as he guzzles his 3rd egg nog he shouts, "THIS IS THE BEST PARTY EVER!"
He loves every color "on the whole planet" - except for pink and purple
He tells elaborate stories about "jumpovers". We have no idea what they are, but apparently they live in skyscrapers-where they don't have any parking, and work at Jack's "work",
He always tells me what he was like when he was "zero" ("Remember when I was zero and I did____?")
Something that is a lot is "100". (which has grown since he used to say it was "10")
He LOVES wearing his dinosaur costume, and his Bulls shirt. He wakes up by himself, undresses, and puts on just a Bulls shirt and his dinosaur outfit over it! When we get up, that is how we find him. The other day I woke up and found him all dressed up perched up in the couch reading "Merry Christmas" out loud from the sign we have on the window. Precious!
He loves watching sports with daddy, and totally gets into it. "uh, man!" "Oh, yeah!" "touchdown!" "oh come on guy"
The other day in the car he informed with that Jesus drives a huge Monster truck and has an excavator!
He likes to play "who would win". Usually it is an animal or dinosaur vs. a jumpover. Other times it is a combination of two arbitraty items.
He's awesome! He tells jokes, he sings songs, he tells stories, he is super honest, polite, generous, thoughtful.....can't say enough!!!
He can now get completely dressed and undressed himself. He can even button up his pajamas all by himself. He likes me to chant"I know I can, I know I can.." from the Little Engine that Could as he tries something new.
He read his first book "Jump Through the Rainforest" from school.
His favortie dinner (which he asksfor everyday) is chicken, broccoli, carrots, and hummus! (which he also wants to leave on the balconey for the reigndeer :)
BABY #2
Jack is excited to be a big brother!
His reactions so far:
1) I will change the baby's diaper so you can watch TV
2) he lifts his shirt and says "see the baby" then moves his tummy " see it's moving"
3) he told me he will make up silly songs. He already sang me 2. One had something to do with a dinosuar and the other was about counting :)
