25 Months...Mama's reflections on his developments

I would say now is the time he is putting 2-3 word phrases together intentionally to communicate independent thoughts. And he is funny! John and I have been talking about how he's been developing his sense of humor. It's amazing to watch someone so small know and understand humor! Just in general I am amazed when we are driving home from school what he will come up with while he is "talking" in the back seat. A lot times he will take me by surprise  He used to just babble back there, but now he is trying to put things together in a sentence to explain something, or in essence, to "tell a story".  The funniest is when he is one the phone!  (I want to clarify and say that I DO use hands free! But the old phone I gave him doesn't have it :) For example, almost every morning I talk to both my friend Abby and Grandma "Nonny". So when Jack gets on his phone, he will either be talking to Abby or Nonny too. He talks very serious, with "yeah" "no" "o-tay" and such in the conversations. At the end it's bye-bye (Abby, or Nonny) and "love you" if it's Nonny. I'm talking to Abby when I pull up to Sabina's so I have to say "Ok Abby I gotta go, I'm at Sabina's". The other day Jack had his phone up to his duck's ear and duck was pretending to be on the phone with Abby. When we pulled up to Sabina's Jack said, " Guck, a Bia's Bye!"  (Guck is duck, Bia is Sabina) It was sooo cute! I was cracking up!

It catches me off guard each time he enters that next phase of growing up....of not being a "baby" anymore. I love each and every second! I don't "miss" the baby phase, I LOVE this phase! He is so much fun! So curious, so happy, so interactive, so funny, and SO CUTE! :) He is on board with whatever it is we are doing and he gets super excited about the littlest things. He still likes to snuggle! (for short periods of time :)

We had to go to 2 doctors yesterday because the poor guy has Strep in the throat and the skin! (a bad sore on his nose, and dots all over his face). Meanwhile he has had it all week and has been such a happy good boy I didn't know! (he didn't have a fever either) I have had stomach issues so I took the day off and made both of us appointments. So, Jack spent the day schlepping to doctors all day and he was SO good! He didn't cry at all! Not even one wimper! It was amazing! He just laughed and smiled and thought he was awesome when everyone told him how cute he was :) I am so proud of him everyday.

Some Favorite Phrases:
Everything is "big"! Even when describing big vs little cars. Big Car is with a deep voice and a little car is Big Car with a soft high voice :) Trucks are still cars, but Big Cars. So a garbage truck is a garbage car and so on. No matter how much we repeat the correct answer, it still comes out car.I just got him a milk truck because our favorite word he says is milk." Miiiillll" so his Milk Truck is a Miilll Car :)

The other day we were driving and he saw 2 helicopters and he said "mama, two planes!" He may not be able to say helicopters, but I was so impressed he could "count" that there were 2!!

Every sport is "Base-ball" (said with an Italian accent :)

He says SO many more words now! And when he puts them together and they make sense as an independent thought it's incredible!

Potty
He sits on it every night before the bath. The other day he was standing and started to pee on the floor so I picked him up and put him on the potty to finish. So....technically he went in the potty! I made a big deal about it, but I am not sure if he made the correlation :)
